Unfortunately I never managed to get my hands on unprocessed rose fiber extracted from the stem and it was difficult to find information about this fiber. The de-gummed rose bush fiber I received is very soft and used for textile production. To de-gum is a process where the protein in the raw fiber is broken down with either warmth or enzymes. When touched and stretched it is comparable to bamboo and Tencel fiber and has the same appearance as a rayon fiber. Rose fiber seems to be labeled as rose when it is actually a viscose fiber made from rice protein or other cereal crops. I am very corious to know more about this product as it seems to be mis-labeled. Please reach out if you have any further information.
